  Abstract Art

Grade eight students at Bayview Middle School created these eye-popping abstracts. The use of colour, pattern and texture to create various effects (even transparency!) is outstanding. - BR.

Teacher/artist Mike Hammer described how: "Students made thumbnail sketches and rough draft plans to get started. They completed their final art works on canvas board by layering plasticine from back to front (like making a pizza-sauce to toppings). The tactile look of the plasticine and its vibrancy add to the exciting three dimensional relief effect."
